From Waste to Awareness
High School grades 9-12.
In this unit, students will explore how waste is created and how reusing materials can help the planet. When they make art from recycled and upcycled items, students see that old or broken things can be turned into something new and meaningful.
This shows them that even small steps, like reusing materials,
can make a difference.

Pieces of me
Middle school
An individual's identity is like a puzzle made up of pieces of hobbies, culture, memories, and experiences. Those pieces then come together to create our identity.
The lesson will aid students thinking critically about stereotypes and recognizing different identities.

The Power of Helping
Middle school
In this lesson, students will look at the living environment in South Carolina, including their neighborhoods and cities. They will think about what makes a place safe, clean, and comfortable to live in, such as parks, buildings, streets, and green spacesand talk about how these places affect people’s lives.
Middle school
In this rapidly developing technological era, students are exposed to an increasing number of new tools, ideas, and digital experiences, which shape a lifestyle very different from the older generations. Sometimes these lead to misunderstandings or conflict between different generations . This lesson explores generational differences by examining the shift from physical to digital life, the changes in communication styles, and the shared values that still connect different age groups.
Elementary school grade 3
The unit is designed to help students understand how the little things they do for others can affect them. Being kind is more than just helping someone. It is a choice we make that can influence all people around us. In this unit, students will consider themselves and what helping someone means to them, what they might do to help somebody, and ways they could help other people daily. The unit will emphasize that we all can be helpers, and through little things we can also make changes in the lives of others.
